The Holland Difference
While the Hollands are more expensive than some grills, the “Holland System” is a patented, ingenious system of heat control guards and a drip pan that prevent flare-ups. Simply close the lid and cook by time. Besides the “safety” factor of preventing dangerous flare-ups, this grill is essentially a convection oven. The aluminum heating / drip tray is brilliant - instead of the meat juices causing hot flare-ups, it simply “smokes” flavor back into your choice of meat, and then drains through the drip pan without ever catching fire.

Holland Grill Cleaning & Care
The most important part of cleaning the Holland Grill is to regularly scrape and clean the cooking grid, the drip pan and make sure the drain pipe is clear. This is easily accomplished with putty knives and a steel brush, or you can buy Holland's Cleaning Kit. Use paper towels to wipe off any excess grease from the edges of the grill and smoke stacks. As a general rule of thumb, you want to detail clean your Holland Grill at least once every two-three weeks, and regularly scrape the grid and drip pan after each use.
Before you replace the igniter on your grill, check first to see if it can be adjusted. This may save you from having to buy the entire igniter kit.
Step 1 To see if your ignitor is actually bad, turn off all gas. With the lid open, turn the ignitor knob several times while looking through the peephole for a spark. The electrode is located on the left side of the burner as you face the grill. If you see a spark, the ignitor is working, but not “arching” enough to ignite the gas. If there is no spark, replace the ignitor.
Step 2 If you are getting a spark, you may need to spread the two electrode prongs gently apart, so that they are about a finger-width apart and gently clean your igniter rods with steal wool or fine grit sand paper.

The Holland Grill is designed to grill at approximately 400 degrees. It will cook a little hotter in the summer and a little cooler in the colder months. Make sure your grill is heating properly when it's cold outside with these helpful tips:Allow plenty of time for preheating - Allow at least 30 minutes--more if it's really cold and windy. Remember, because of the nature of the steel, stainless grills take longer to preheat than do steel or aluminum grills.Allow for longer cooking times - A rule of thumb is to allow 30-40% more cooking time in cold, windy weather.Keep the lid closed - Every time you open the lid, you let heat out. Use a digital meat thermometer/probe so you won't have to open the grillBlock the wind - A strong wind blowing into the front side of the grill will also affect your cooking times. If possible, move the grill so a gusty wind hits it from behind or the side rather than in the front.

SG2-105) of all full-size Holland Grills not used in a commercial environment (like ballparks) are guaranteed for the "life of the grill."
