Great Ice, but...
Had a GE for 8 years. Replaced many parts during that time. This unit seems better built. The ice is a little larger than the pellet ice , which is nice even for cocktails. Easy on your teeth. It is louder than the GE. You definitely know it's running. But you get used to it. All seems to be working well. The ice production is quite good. 2 improvements they could make. First, there is no interior light... this would be nice. Second, the scoop is square faced, which is not conducive for glasses. Better for a bucket or a cooler. I kept my old scoop which works well.

ice machine
far superior construction compared to consumer grade (kenmore, etc) machines. heavier construction, solid feel. I've had it a short time but it feels like it will outlast cheaper units. cubelet ice is much better than standard cubes. cons - price tag is higher, and unit may be considered noisy, but not much noisier than standard consumer units. overall, if you're a big ice consumer, I highly recommend this unit.
