Scotsman Ice Maker
Excellent Ice Maker. This one replaced a prior Scotsman that lasted for 15 years. No complaints.

Joel, Thank you for your interest in this Scotsman Ice Machine. In answer to your question: the water supply line is not included, and would have to be purchased/provided separately. How loud is the pump? I have a kit chaise ice machine but don't use it because the pump makes a continuous obnoxious noise!

We asked a product specialist for feedback and he responded that the pump Scotsman Automatic Ice Machine is not loud and turns on only when the water canister is full and needs pumping out. Replacing an old Scotsman DCE33PA--any thoughts on upgrading to the SCCP50. Differences in maintenance or service life? The unit is used heavily for 4 months of the year and hardly at all the rest of the year

The truth of the matter is that a majority of ice machines are used like your ice machine,during a few months (normally summer) they are used much more. Both of these ice machines were built with that in mind.
There are a few things that make the SCCP50 a good choice for you. First. you mentioned maintenance, and the SCCP50 has an automatic cleaning cycle that will descale your system without you needing to scrub. Easier cleaning means you will clean it more regularly and that will extend the life of your unit.
Also, since this unit has a higher ice production, it will spend less time making the ice to fill the bin and this should mean energy savings. However if your are continually waiting for ice with your current DCE unit, you might not save money, but you will have double the amount of ice and should be able to end the wait.
They both have the same warranty, 1 year P&L and 5 years on the compressor, so you can buy either with confidence.
I hope this helps you understand how the SCCP50 is a smart buy. We do have one of the SCCP50MA-1SU instock in our South Carolina warehouse. If you would like to have that in your home, give up a call or buy it online today!

How do I clean my Ice Maker?

1. Open the door and turn the ice machine control knob off.
2. Scoop out all of the ice, either discard it or save it in an ice chest or cooler.
3. Pour four ounces of Ice Machine Cleaner into the ice machine reservoir.
4. Turn the ice machine control to ON.
5. Allow the machine to operate for about two hours.
6. Pour hot (95 to 115 degrees Fahrenheit) water into the bin to melt the ice that has formed.
7. Clean the bin liner of mineral scale by mixing ice machine cleaner and hot water together and using that solution to scrub the scale off the liner.
8. Rinse the liner with hot water.
9. Sanitize the bin interior.
10. Add the ice from step 2 back into the bin.
