The Wells Counter Top Universal Ventless Hood offers a Certified Type-1 compliant and UL710B compliant ventless recirculating hood system, ensuring safety and efficiency in non-traditional cooking environments. This innovative hood features a self-contained air filtration system, eliminating the need for external venting. Its design makes it ideal for locations where traditional Type-1 hoods and ductwork are impractical or cost-prohibitive. The hood is pre-plumbed for an externally mounted fire suppression system, ensuring compliance and added safety for professional kitchens.
With the Wells Counter Top Universal Ventless Hood, operators can enjoy unparalleled flexibility by using various electric cooking equipment, such as fryers, ovens, griddles, and steamers, under one hood. This versatility allows for increased throughput and efficient kitchen operations. Designed for convenience and performance, this hood is a practical solution for expanding culinary capabilities in diverse settings. Backed by a robust warranty, it guarantees reliability and peace of mind for long-term use.
The WVU-31CT includes factory-installed piping, five discharge nozzles, electronic heat-sensors, and is ready to connect to an external fire protection system. It can connect to the building's fire alarm system.
Completely self-contained filtration process reduces emissions below standards outlined in NFPA 96 and ANSI UL710B using the EPA 202 test method. Includes stainless steel grease baffle filter with grease cup, fiberglass pre-filters, high-efficiency particulate air filter, and carbon-charcoal filter pack. Filters are easily removable without tools. Airflow sensors monitor air flow performance and grease removal, and the interlock system disables cooking appliances if filters are missing, clogged, or during fire events.
Only electrically heated appliances are acceptable for installation. Appliances must be controlled through the hood equipment shut-off interface, which disables cooking equipment in the event of fire or hood malfunction.
Typical airflow is 550 CFM. A minimum of 200 cubic feet of fresh air per minute per linear foot of the hood is recommended to ensure dilution of cooking aromas.
