Our Phone Sales Team will be unavailable today in observance of Labor Day.

Let's start talking about how best to equip our home kitchen so that we can complete our tasks to the degree that we expect. I am reminded of my high school shop teacher who always said "get the right tool to do the right job the right way". This rule holds true in the kitchen as well & I can think of no better place to start than with a good stand type mixer. My choice and that of many other kitchen professionals for use at home...KitchenAid. Hands down winner in the category according to Consumer Reports Magazine.

This little beauty will perform all that is asked of it in any household setting. With the numerous attachments that are available the household chef will be able to create recipes that can rival those of a restaurant or commercial kitchen. Imagine, making your own link sausage the way you like it, you know, just a little more sage or coriander than the store brand that you buy. Or how about your own pasta, so easy with the pasta making attachment and you decide the flavor (sun dried tomato is one of my favorites) as well as the shape with the many dies that come in the kit. Let your culinary mind run wild with the ideas that are possible when you see the different accessories.

If we just talk about the economics of this piece of equipment we have to see the savings in grinding our own meat for 'burgers, buying bulk cheeses and grinding or shredding it as we need. Another attachment will allow you to slice your own vegetables for salads. One thing we learn in the professional kitchen is that the more processing that is done to a product before it reaches us, the higher the price. You may pay $6.00 for bag of shredded lettuce or buy 3 heads of lettuce @ 98 cents each and shred your own, and you have control over the quality of product.

I have gone on about the optional equipment that you can buy but let us not forget the 3 attachments that come with the mixer. Namely, the whip for making meringues and batters that need to have as much air in them as possible to perform the right way when baked. Then there is the paddle which is worth its weight in gold for mixing that batter for the opera fudge, chocolate chip cookies, or just general mixing. Lastly, there is the dough hook for that recipe that Grandma gave you for the home made bread, or the family favorite, pizza dough.

There are several models, colors available, and more attachments than you can shake a stick at so I would suggest that you contact our friendly and knowledgeable sales associates at JES Restaurant Equipment, advise them of your intended use and let us guide you through this purchase. We have loads of residential kitchen gadgets as well as selling restaurant supplies wholesale so give them a call toll free 866-200-6056.
