Our Phone Sales Team will be unavailable today in observance of Labor Day.

As the weather finally begins to cool down, some of our employees here at J.E.S. Restaurant Equipment have begun to contemplate the changing seasons. Here’s a quick autumnal reflection from the owner:

                                                         Fall

Fall is my favorite time of year, in August I am about ready to melt followed by the cool mornings of fall it’s like a drink of crisp water on a hot day. I get up in the morning Viv and I have coffee together before heading off to JES. It is 17 miles from my home to JES on a beautiful stretch of highway between Abbeville and Greenwood and the hardwoods that line the sides of HWY 72 are starting to change just a little now.

It’s amazing how when I was younger I would look at these trees and go yep that’s nice and continue on my way today it’s a different feeling I stop and just drink it in like the water in August. I think when you arrive at your fall season as a human being ” yes Viv it’s fall cause middle age ain’t 51 ” you start taking time to notice how beautiful the fall colors are or the feel of the cool air on your face.

Building JES for the past several years has been one of the hardest things Viv and I have ever done, people I have known for years will say how you doing Eric and I reply great I’m only working half days now, they immediately say that’s great only 4 hours a day , I laugh and reply nope 12 hours there’s 24 in a day and I work half of them . When I was young I thought I knew all there was to know about most everything, my dad’s statement was every child should leave home at 16 years old cause at 16 they know EVERYTHING, I understand now that I have a 16 year old at home.

My time at JES has changed from when I first started in my service truck repairing what we sell today. The service company is still alive and well but I get to explain instead of repair, in the equipment company I get to advise instead of sell and install a cook line. As you get older ‘at least for me ” you develop a greater appreciation for life and the people around you, OK some you dont ,some you look at ad go REALLY ! REALLY! I guess that’s the way it works before you check out.

Saturday, God willing , I will be in a deer stand reflecting on things of the past and my hopes for the future, feeling the sunlight and cool breeze on my face. They tell me 51 is young , I hope so cause just like going from summer to Autumn, it just got better. The web folks upstairs also tell me blogs’ need to be informative and meant for the reader to feel you are an authority on the subject matter. Take time to enjoy the fall season with those you care about and OH ! YEA ! want to buy some restaurant equipment. ” Now ya Cookin’
