Now Ya Cookin'

An old TV show suggested "Father Knows Best", but when it comes to baking biscuits, it was mom who knew best.
Serves: 10-12 Difficulty Level: 1 (of 5) Prep Time: 10 Minutes Ready In:INGREDIENTS:
- 2 cups all purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1/4 cup butter or margarine
- 3/4 cup milk
- Combine all dry ingredient and blend well with whisk.
- Cut in butter until resembles coarse bread crumbs.
- Stir in milk until all comes together to form a dough ball.
- Turn out dough ball onto a heavily floured surface
- Let set for a couple of minutes and then knead for about a minute.
- Re-flour the surface and pat out to about 1/2? thick.
- Cut biscuits with floured biscuit cutter. (That was my job.)
- Place on an ungreased baking pan. (If biscuits are placed touching one another, or "flirting", they rise higher.)
- Form remaining dough into ball and repeat until all dough made into biscuits.
- Bake in 425-450 degree oven for 12-15 minutes.
Time for plenty of butter and some home-made jam!
>br>Enjoy,
Chef Phil
