Our Phone Sales Team will be unavailable today in observance of Labor Day.

Valentine's Day is right around the corner. While it's a holiday designed to show your partner how much you care about them, some years it can be difficult to come up with a gift that they will love. Instead of buying a cute teddy bear or a heart-shaped box of chocolates, consider doing something for that they will really appreciate. We've come up with five things you can do in the kitchen that will show your significant other how much you care.

1. Cook dinner together. It's easy for things to get busy during the week and dinner can often become a rushed affair. This can also mean that you see each other less than you would like during the week. Instead of going out for Valentine's Day, celebrate the holiday at home by cooking dinner together. Not only does this mean no dressing up or worrying about reservations, but it will also allow you to spend quality time with your partner without interruptions.

2. Surprise your significant other with dinner or dessert. Does your partner get home from work late? Or does one person end up doing the majority of the cooking? Surprise them by making dinner or their favorite dessert so that when they get home, they can just relax.

3. Surprise them with a new kitchen gadget. Is there a new pastry knife or coffee pot that your partner has been talking about? Did an often-used kitchen accessory break and has yet to be replaced? While something like a pastry knife or replacing the egg slicer is relatively small, surprising your partner with a new accessory will show them that you listen to them and pay attention which can be more special than a big gesture like dinner at a fancy restaurant.

4. Clean the kitchen. Cleaning is one of those chores that seems to be never-ending at home and one that you never seem to have enough time for. Take initiative and clean the kitchen (or the whole house, if you're ambitious) so that there is one less thing on your partner's mental to-do list. It's amazing how much more relaxing a clean space can be and how much weight can be lifted off someone's shoulders by finding out one of their chores has already been taken care of.

5. Prepare their favorite meal. While this might sound similar to number 2 above, it's slightly different. Is there a meal that your significant other loves but don't get to eat often or is time-consuming to make? For example, your partner might love their grandmother's homemade lasagna recipe but it takes hours to make. Try surprising them this Valentine's Day with that dish. It's a sweet gesture that will show you care through the effort, time, and thought that went into making the special meal.
