Cambro has been a leading manufacturer in cafeteria, restaurant, and even medical small wares. The company was originally founded by two brothers, Bill and Argyle Campbell. They started selling their first product, the Camtray® to the American Hospital Supply Corporation. After that, this product was quickly embraced by restaurant, hotel, school and cafeteria operators.
In the 60s, Cambro introduced the Camcover® plate covers and other dinnerware that would provide the user with a durable, long lasting tableware and serving items. Cambro has developed state-of-the-art small wares that continue to make improvements with restaurant equipment like the exclusive FlipLid®, GripLid®, and SlidingLid™. In the 70s, Cambro came out with the first Camtainer®. This was the first full line of insulated food and beverage containers that kept food hot or cold for holding or transporting.
