Halloween is coming up soon and what better way to celebrate than with some Halloween-themed cookies! These dark chocolate cookies will strike the perfect balance between deliciously chocolately and mildly spooky.

Ingredients:
  • 2 sticks unsalted butter, room temperature
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1-1/4 cups orange M&Ms (or color of your choice)
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup dark chocolate chips
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 3/4 cup dark cocoa powder
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
Directions:
  1. In a mixing bowl, cream together the butter and both sugars. Once sufficiently creamed, add in the two eggs and vanilla extract.
  2. In a separate mixing bowl, add together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Slowly add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and stir.
  4. Once the ingredients have been mixed together, add in the dark chocolate chips.
  5. Add the M&Ms and stir gently. Try not to break the M&Ms.
  6. Line two baking sheets with parchment paper. Scoop out the dough in balls and place on the baking sheets. Do not flatten the dough balls.
  7. Gently press extra M&Ms onto the dough balls if desired and bake in the oven at 350°F for 8-10 minutes or until cookies are firm around the edges when pressed. They should still be soft in the middle.
  8. Remove from the oven and let cool before serving.
