
A recipe for classic southern fudge that you can't resist.
SLAP YA' HAND" DOUBLE
FUDGE RECIPE
Serves:
makes 50 pieces Difficulty Level: 2 (of 5) Prep Time: 5 Minutes Ready In: Less
than an hour
INGREDIENTS:
•2 cups sugar
•2 blocks butter
•2 cans evaporated milk
•1/2 Cup Hershey's cocoa
•2 Teaspoons vanilla
•Pecans if desired
PROCEDURE:
•Heat a saucepot, over medium high heat.
•Mix the cocoa, cream, butter, and sugar.
•Melt together and mix well.
•After well mixed, turn heat to medium.
•Stir ... keep doing so until the fudge has become thick
•To test if fudge is hot enough; get a small glass of cold water, get a
spoonful of fudge and drop in glass of water. If fudge balls up, it's hot
enough. If fudge drips to bottom of glass and does not stay together, keep
cookin'.
•After fudge is cooked, turn off fire.
•Keep pot in place, quickly add vanilla and stir, stir, stir.
•Fudge molds fast so you must hurry!
•If desired, quickly add nuts.
•Dump the fudge onto a cooled cookie sheet.
•Completely cool before cutting into squares.
