Perhaps the most versatile piece of equipment is the slow cooker or crock pot. This product does all the cooking for you. Pop in the ingredients in the morning before work, turn it on, and at the end of the day you'll have a nicely cooked meal without having to lift a finger. Slow cookers work well for more than just easy dinners, however. You can also make oatmeal, desserts, pudding, soup, and meat in them.
A Dutch oven is another great piece to add to your kitchen collection. This is another kitchen item that is pretty versatile. Because it has higher sides than a skillet, but is not as deep as a stock pot, it's perfect for mixing pasta dishes, batches of soup, or stir fry. Some Dutch ovens, like the ones from Lodge, can even be put in the oven which opens up more possibilities.
Rice cookers are a classic, but still popular, appliance. As the name suggests, they are great for quickly cooking a variety of rice. Rather than using a pot on the stove and waiting for the water to boil before adding the rice, pop everything you need into the rice cooker and let it work its magic. Your toppings or other meal accompaniments and rice will both be done in no time.
Other items like a waffle maker, omelet pan, or toaster oven are also great options to making cooking faster and easier. Use any of these items in your kitchen and making your next meal will be a breeze.
